We are living in times when nearly everything can be outsourced. However, the question is, should everything be outsourced?

Outsourcing is a mechanism meant for improving the efficiency and enhancing the scale of your organisation. It can never really replace those things that define the essence of your organisation’s identity, such as the vision, core competencies, and creativity. The things which you can ideally replace through outsourcing, nonetheless, are routine, standardised, or transactional tasks, which could help you free your internal teams for innovative thinking with respect to product development and more.

This is to say, it is very crucial for you to be in direct control of your product, your culture, and your long-term differentiation in the industry. Handing this control over could pose a serious challenge to your priorities and the essence of what makes your organisation unique.

The day you excel in leveraging the global reach of outsourcing (with an understanding of when to deploy it and when not to) would be the day that ensures your organisation’s agility.
