| | JAISA RAJA, WAISI PRAJA |
| | Most startup founders ask themselves subconsciously, “How can I scale my business?” However, what is also to be considered is: “What parts of me are scaling with my business?” “Are my biases turning into company policies?” “Is my anxiety setting and influencing the pace of my team?” “Is my perfectionism killing ideas and innovations unknowingly?” “Does my business have enough room and the potential to outgrow me?” |
| Culture is never taught; rather, it is caught. Jaisa raja, waisi praja (As the king, so are the people). Organisational behaviour researchers also call it the “imprinting theory”, as even long after the context has changed, early (or let’s say, original) values, decisions, and leadership styles tend to stick around, which are inevitably intertwined with the founder’s fears, philosophies, obsessions, and biases. In simple terms, your business is your shadow, and you should also be asking yourself what parts of you your business is inheriting. |
|
|
| | Every email you ignore, every shortcut you take, every tantrum you throw, your startup learns, copies, and scales it. |
| In the end, every business is scaling a personality, not a product. This Founder DNA defines temperament, instincts, responses, strengths, and, unfortunately, even flaws. A wise founder, like a self-aware human, evolves past their defaults. |
